Ethereal Gardens Wedding

Wedding

This past November, Tori and Jacob finally had their perfect, fairy tale, fair fun filled wedding day. When we started working together on invitations, their wedding date was set for March 2021. We were so excited to start designing their custom wedding invitation suite: pulling inspiration from the venue, white florals and greenery, geometric shapes, and some watercolor elements. We had completed her invitations and they were almost ready to print but, like most couples, Covid prevented them from having their dream wedding. With the vaccine barely rolling out and guests skeptical to travel, Tori and Jacob decided to postpone their wedding to November 2021. We shelved their invitations for a few months.

Once we were ready to start designing again, Tori reached out to me to explain that she was no longer happy with the current state of the invitations. The designs had geometric shapes with watercolor florals, similar vibes to the wedding cake and hexagon place cards, but it didn’t translate well for the invitations. After seeing some of my newer work, she gave me the best thing a client could ever say, which was to start over and these magical words: “I want to give you full reign and let you create something beautiful.” Nothing beats the feeling of a client 100% trusting their designer to create the perfect invitation suite. With this in mind, we did something new and decided on keeping the invitation simple with custom illustrations: venue illustrations, icons for the day of events, and a custom monogram. The only design pieces we kept from the previous design were the monograms and color palette. The invitation card and RSVP are letterpress and the details card printed on an olive green cardstock with white ink. We completed the suite with ribbons, custom wax seal design, an envelope liner, and envelope calligraphy.

Frosted Acrylic Welcome Sign with calligraphy

We brought in the same romantic feel for the wedding day signage and stationery for a cohesive look: pulling in the same colors, design elements, and font choices. The welcome sign was white ink calligraphy on frosted acrylic. They had a beautiful champagne wall that also served as an escort wall. Each champagne glass included a frosted hexagon with guests names and table assignment in gold. The tables were named after places they traveled together. The menus were printed on vellum with white ink. The wax seal colors served as mail indicators. For the place cards, the bride herself painted the gold paint strokes and I added the calligraphy for guest names.

Wedding Vow Books

It was a beautiful day and their fur babies were able to get in on some of the photos. I’m a sucker for pets attending their pawrent’s special day. While the newlyweds were busy taking photos, guests were in for some county fair games. Tori and Jacob shared many special dates at the OC Fair and wanted to bring some of those details for their wedding day. They had some fair games, corn hole with a custom vinyl, and even cotton candy!

Congrats to these newlyweds! Also, Tori is a talented wedding planner, which made her approval of her invitations and day of items even more special.
